I am fond of reading news papers online and it takes long to open articles and therefore the projector i will use for enlarging the destop view so that news print can be read. Also i will use it of watching movies. what lumens , contrast ratio and other specs be.
to start with, LCD and projection are two different technologies. a projector is basically a light source at the end of the room that projects the image onto a white screen or the wall. I do not recomend it for reading newspapers.

for reading news papers you best have a 'full HD' and not HD ready. the difference is in the resolution that the screen will support. for reading and surfing, you need full hd.
Go for only samsung or sony if you are looking for over 40" screen. under that, the 37" LG is award wining but not the bigger models.
basically, if budget is not a limit, then any size between 46 and 50" full hd with a proper computer connection should do the trick for you. remember, you need a computer next to the lcd screen to brows the news paper and it will only be as fast as your existing computer with your internet speed. just the display bigger!
