Hi I have been facing the same decision. I looked at three brands: Nikon, Tamron and sigma. of these nikon is obviously having the best quality and is the most expensive of the three. Tamron is cheaper and Sigma is very expensive. I would suggest you go for the 70 to 300 tamron available at salam stores for 790 riyals. Because in a telezoom lens, its important to be of a higher diameter, to let more light in,so as to get clearer brighter image. The tamron is a 63mm lens. The sigma with same specs cost 1990 at virgin megastore. Sigma is japan made, where as tamron is made in china. IF you wanna go for something which is 28 to 300, tamron has an option, but your images mgiht be a bit blurred. if you had mentioned your budget in this query, i could have adviced you a bit better.

A prime lens would be a good addition. Maybe a 50mm 1.8f or 1.4f, will give you great quality pictures at low prices. Once you get used to the quality of prime lens' you would never go back to your kit lens.

Telezoom -> 70-300mm VR Nikon - Cheaper option. Or 70-200mm VRII is expensive but excellent investment. Good luck!
