blackberry battery

hi, i have a blackberry curve 8520 which i bought 3 months ago. the problem is the battery after it was fully charged it is getting drained out easily even though not using it. how is this possible when this quite new. sometimes charging taking so long as well. BTW once i start to recharge it there is an battery ICON showing and there is a CUT or GAP that divides the battery into two. what does it mean? help!! thanks

it seems the battery is not working properly. try to change it better for you. and to save the BB
