HH Sheikha Jawaher honors QU female graduates

Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Hamad bin Suhaim al-Thani, wife of His Highness the Amir, patronized the 2019 graduation ceremony of Qatar University's 42nd batch of female students at the QU Sports and Events Complex on Tuesday.
HH Sheikha Jawaher honored 411 outstanding graduates, out of the total 2,468 in various disciplines.
Several Sheikhs and ministers, along with members of the university's administration and faculty, students' parents and guests participated in the ceremony.
On the occasion, a film was screened about the university's achievements in 2019, as well as the global rankings achieved, in addition to QU's role and its vision in the service of society and the State in accordance with Qatar National Vision 2030.
President of Qatar University, Dr Hassan Rashid Al Derham delivered a speech expressing pride in QU's female graduates.
He said the Qatari society aspires to achieve an advanced status among other nations, and the nation will never forget the roles played by the mothers, sisters, and daughters in achieving this goal.
The graduation ceremony was a recognition of Qatari female intellectuals' promising and pioneering role "for the good of our country and our wise leadership," he added.
Aisha Khalid Al Mulla from the College of Business and Economics delivered a speech on behalf of the graduating female students, saying that education was and is still the basis on which communities and countries are built, and is the best way to build a distinct society with distinct thought.
"It is an effective tool to address all kinds of corruption," she said pointing to the wise leadership's attention and focus on education, as it is a cornerstone of the Qatar National Vision 2030.
Earlier on Monday, HH the Amir attended the graduation ceremony of the male students of QU's Class of 2019. At the ceremony, HH the Amir honored 87 outstanding graduates by presenting them with their diplomas.
