Traffic is expected to be crazy on Sunday morning, as 300,000 students return to schools across the country, Qatar’s education ministry has said.

After nearly 3 months of summer vacation, and the last week of Eid holidays, the ministry says preparations have been carried out to start the 2016/2017 academic year.

Lots of resources have been dedicated to help achieve the goals and aspirations of Qatar's education system and to improve the academic achievement for students.

The total number of new school seats at independent schools has been increased to to meet the growing demand for education this year.

At least 191 independent public schools with 12,940 teachers will meet the needs of over 100,000 students, while 12 new schools and private kindergartens have been licensed.

Mohammed bin Abdul Wahed Al Hamadi, Minister of Education and Higher Education, said that the ministry will continue this year to implement its strategy through the developmental initiatives, in order to achieve quality in all components of the educational system.

He said that new disciplinary and assessment measures were being adopted to help curb poor bad behavior and poor performance.

Are you excited to go back to school, or take your kids back?
