First Ihsan School opens in Qatar, offers free education to non-Arab children

Education has always been a top priority for Qatar. This is mirrored in the number of initiatives the country has taken to promote education at all levels, locally and internationally.

In its latest such endeavor, focused on creating educational opportunities within the country, Qatar has established the first ‘Ihsan School’ that provides free-of-cost education to non-Arab children who have never been able to attend a school due to financial limitations.

The school contains all the mandatory facilities needed to provide a holistic learning experience to the children.  It contains 36 classrooms, which can accommodate at least 400 students.

With a morning and evening session, as many as 800 students may be able to benefit from the school.

The school has been set up under a partnership between the Education Above All Foundation (EAA), the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs and the Ministry of Education and Higher Education.

His Excellency the Minister of Endowments and Islamic Affairs Dr Ghaith bin Mubarak Al Kuwari and His Excellency the Minister of Education and Higher Education Dr Mohamed Abdul Wahed Ali Al Hammadi officially inaugurated the school yesterday in the presence of several other officials.

HE the Minister of Education said the school serves non-Arab students who find it difficult financially and socially to enroll in schools in Qatar.

He further mentioned that the school adopts the Cambridge English curriculum for students who are non-Arabic speakers. Another school with an Arab curriculum will also be launched later, he said.

Director of the General Department of Endowments, Sheikh Dr Khaled bin Mohamed bin Ghanem al-Thani, director said the school is one of the pioneering educational initiatives of the endowment bank for scientific and cultural development. He said it also reflects the strong community partnership within various sectors in Qatar.

The cost of the school exceeded QR4 million, he mentioned, highlighting that it will serve as an optimal learning facility for quality education.

Mohamed Khan Zadeh, managing director of the school, thanked all stakeholders for their interest in supporting education for children living in limited circumstances and possibilities.

The number of registered students is 350 and the registration process is still ongoing, he said.

let me clear: example-

1.your salary is 10,000 QR

2.Total 4 family members in your family: each 1200*4=4800 QR.

3.House Rent: 3000 QR

4.now calculate 4800+3000=7800 QR.

5.Now your total salary 10,000-7,800=2,200 QR

this 2,200 QR must be below 1200.if it is more than 1200 QR they will not allow for admission.

This school is totally free of cost. you don't need to pay any single Riyal for admission, school uniform, transportation, Books, etc. British curriculum.

If you have more than 1200 QR at the end of the month, then they will not allow your children for admission. Your earnings and expenses will be calculated. needed below documents...

1. A signed an application detailing their personal circumstances and inability to pay tuition.

2.valid passport Qatar id of parents and all your children.

3.Copy of birth certificate of all children.

4.Copy of salary certificate

5.Copy of Bank statement of the last six months.

6.Copy of water and electricity bill the last three months.

7.copy of house rent contract.

8.Copy of Qatar credit Bureau report of Father or Guardian.

9.In case of single widow, death certificate of husband.

10.In case of single mother, copy of divorce.

11.If children has attended any school in the past, copy of school certificate or report card.

12.If more than one earning member in the family, copy of their salary certificate.

13. Medical report in case parents are not working due to a medical reason.

14.two passport size photograps of the applicant.

I hope this information will help you.I collected all information from that school. I tried to admit my son but after collecting all the documents, before submitting to the school unfortunately i lost my job....Since I am only two months in Qatar, I have not admitted to my son.

But I pry to Allah those who are suffering from the financial crisis, They get the chance to get their children admitted. Pray for my son also. jazakallah khairan.
