Mawasem - Hilton

Always stayed at Hilton but never tried their Friday Brunch till yesterday. We always go down to Mawasem to look at what is being served for Brunch everytime we stay there but always feel that the food choiices were not great in comparison to other brunches of the same  price point in Doha. We decided to go and experience their Friday Brunch.

Friday Brunch
The good point is that service from the staff was excellent. However, a 5 star hotel, I was expecting better quality of food, choices in food and presentation but was dissappointed. Sushi was cold, its rice was flavorless, the sushi soy too salty. The Turkey was dry and the choice in food don't really seem to compliment each other. The pasta station and the desserts were the only thing that made of the whole brunch acceptable aside from the service. Though I love Hilton Doha as a hotel, I would rather spend brunch at Crowne Plaza's Aramede with the same price point.

ROOM SERVICE:
We also requested for room service and was pleased with the service and timeliness of the service. We ordered their US Chargrilled Cheeseburger and actually ordered thrice as it was really good. Fries were your ordinary frozen kind but the burger itself was great. Prise-wise, it what  you would expect from a hotel - 85QR. Could have been less but not really complaining as price is expected to be at this level.

BREAKFAST:
Breakfast is great at Mawasem as you have a lot of choices from cheeses, breads, fruits, egg station, etc. That's probably why I'm dissappointed at their brunch offering is because they serve an excellent breakfast. I'm now realizing that a lot of the items I mentioned above were not really cooked aside from those coming from the egg station. For items that were cooked, you get turkey bacon, mushrooms, sauteed vegetables, waffles, etc. The chicken was dry and chewy. Still, even if you don't try their "cooked" items, the breads, cheeses, arabic dips, fruits and juices alone make a lovely breakfast.
