Hotel Radisson blue – toilets.
Recently been to Hotel Radisson blue (new one ) To attend a full day seminar,
I was surprised and upset upon using general toilets over there, as there were no water Hand spray facility inside all the toilets, Regardless if Race / religion 90% population from SARC and middle east are using water and most of them will never comfortable with only toilet / tissue papers instead of water ( tissue papers never gives that level of hygienic cleanliness and many chemicals are used to make such fine papers out of tree which is not good at all for kids and people of sophisticated skins )
I never ever face such lack of essential facility in any public premises in Qatar / middle east. indeed now a days in many famous restaurants in western world ,,, they respect the people’s feeling and needs ,and they providing a separate facility.
Upon Query, Guest relation representative of Hotel simply say sorry for that !
how come Hotel Radisson blue, such a big Hotel ignore this essential needs, people are going for Food/meetings accommodation etc they will never be comfortable in such situation and people who want to perform Salah after using said toilets they will have another confusion !
I believe this issue is well known to Hotel Radisson blue management , hope they shall respect the essential needs of the general public and local culture.
They don't have the money to install even hand sprays?
I really wonder!
Radisson is a poor hotel chain. They probably don't have money to equip the rooms with "Western" bathrooms.
A "Western" bathroom always has both: a toilet and a bidet. Just to up-date your incomplete information.
If they are Muslims, there is just no way by which they could be comfortable with using tissue papers, let alone cultural, traditional, and habitual demands. I am sure you know what I mean.
Having said that, I am trying to recall my last visit to this hotel which was then the Ramada Hotel. From what I recall using the toilet, water was available then in the toilets. I wonder if a change has taken place in thinking with the new owners.
Accha. All the washrooms are same there. It is just that my friend got water jet fixed in the wash room. He was not comfortable with only tissue papers. I have seen muslim staff there, perhaps they are happy with tissue papers.
My Cuban Shotputter swore by 4 ply embossed paper and always carried wet wipes with her
Then it means there exist two types of accommodation at Ezdan West Bay, one to suit western requirements and the other to suit eastern requirements. But a hotel is not operated on that concept or principle especially a 4-star one. Hotels are built to cater to all types of customers irrespective of nationality or religion. I wonder how the Muslim staff at the hotel manage to pass the whole day. Or do they have any Muslims on their payroll?
One of my Kashmiri friends who recently checked into Ezdan West Bay faced the same issue. However he had it changed as he is planning to live there for a longer period.
So the point is that it is not UNCOMMON.
Acchabaccha my friend ... I am familiar with the problems here .. So I keep a small bottle of water with me
Mufti: I cannot adjust myself and get to use toilet paper. Toilet papers just don't provide that level of cleanliness which water does. And if the toilet paper is rough...!
muad-db my pal. Are you living in the east or the west?
The information in the post came as a great surprise to me. For a 4-star hotel do be doing this, is absolutely unbelievable! To my knowledge, almost all people from the east irrespective of nationality or religion, use water in their toilets. The concept of using toilet paper in toilets just does not exist.
You must get used to changing world.
Azawis my pal .. Plan better .. Keep a bottle of water with you .. Joys
You are probably right .. However there are many hotels in Qatar where toilets don't have washers ..
Perhaps they feel that these types are easier to keep clean
