If you have windows 7 and its genuine, use microsoft's own AV. Its free and I think its as good or better than the paid one like symantec.

I think his purpose of buying SEP is not just for AV but for additional features and protection that SEP is providing like network monitoring, limiting of email attachments, locking of computers ports and so on.

Use free antivirus software from microsoft.

You can’t put a price on protection. So use Microsoft Security Essentials.

@ubi007... u can use pirated software but you are forgetting that you put 100's and 1000's of engineer's jobs at risk by not paying for something you use.

You wouldn't know this unless you come from a industry from which you earn your bread and butter and someone does the same to you.

Also, you as an individual can use pirated s.w but i doubt there would hardly be a company which would think of using pirated software.
