s-Video cable is not working From Laptop to TV..?!
By master_mas •
i bought an S-Video cable yesterday.
.
couldn't connect my Laptop to the TV..
.
my laptop is Lenovo 3000 N100. nVidia 7300 512 MB..
.
do u think i need Special nVidia s-Video for it to work..
.
because the only s-video cable that ever worked was original nVidia cable that came with my PC's nVidia 6600 Graphics Card..
Hi frnd....when you connect any external display device to a Laptop with a graphics accelerator card, which in your case is nVidia; you must use the nVidia control panel to configure the external display device and its supported features. The graphics control panel can also be accessed by right clicking on desktop and then going for display properties. The settings approach would be different for XP and Vista OS. Hope this helps :)
S-Video is an industry standard so any cable should work. If that's not the case then it's not true s-video and you should complain to your graphics card manufacturer.
On my laptop I have to 'enable' the s-video output on my graphics card before it will display on the TV. Check under your 'display properties' or your graphics card settings.
