Linksys Router Configuration
Can anyone help?
yesterday Kharamma turned of the power to my house for maintenance or something ... in anycase, when I got home my linksys router no longer connects to the web. We can all pick up the wireless connection. QTEL says I need to go and get a man to come to the house and reconfigure the router or buy a new one from their shop!
This router has been thru power interruptions before over the years and had no problems reconnecting so I find this hard to believe.
The person who originally set this is up has left Doha and I dont have any instructions, Cd, or anything else inc password/ username.
Basically I need to go buy a new router and start again yes????
try to go to sofitel hotel shopping center or gharafa shopping center, there are alot of computer shops there with alot of technetions , just ask them for help and give them the tybe of what u have , they just will charge for 50 qr meximam ,
If you can reinstall the program of the router, it will solve the problem provided that you have the installation CD. If you have friends with the same brand of router you can borrow it and use for the installation. It happened to me also and I have done the same thing.
the user name is your phone number plus p like = p43454647 and password is =qatar123 by default, if that person didnt changed. if he/she changed it then call qtel and give them your phone number and they will provide you a new password.

You can access the linksys config page from your web browser, probably by typing 192.168.1.1 into your browser.
If it asks for username/password try the following combinations (it depends which router you have);
[blank] / admin
admin / [blank]
admin / admin
Now find the internet connection section of the configuration pages and enter your qtel username and password. That should allow the router to connect to the internet.
