internet speed very slow
hi, can any one help out? my internet got very slow. this been going since a week. i thought it was from my lap tap. did some clean up, but still the same. try another lap top still the same.
i can not log on face book properly, can not log on gmail like before. can not upload picture on ql.
can any body help out why>> i called qtel so many times. but no free agend. i got sake and tired staying on hold.
can any one help out???
this slowness is driving me nuts. i feel like i want to break this lap top! :-(
Are you using a replacement fro Q-tel ADSL router? If yes which brand and is your wireless connection protected by a password or not?

Oh you mean QTEL? nothing new about qtel it SUCKS at always..and they're always been a pain in the a$$ for me.
i have go adsl2+ where i live. I get anywhere between
750 KBps (7500 kilobits per second) to 1200KB (1.2MB or 12000 kilobits per second
To make sure it is your Internet connection and not some other component try this speed test -
http://www.speedtest.net
Then click on the yellow pyramid.

Internet connection is slow here. Fastest speed here is half the speed of the slowest connection available in my home country. And at the moment it is slower than usual
clear cookies and cache
perform available key updated for ie
if router/modem is wifi enabled, disable wifi (to isolate problem)
perform multiple ping tests (start>run>cmd> "ping www.ato.gov.au"
check for packet drops if any.
try a different computer for testing purposes
perform a speed test at www.bigpond.com >help> downloads> download "online storage application" look out for speed below 35KBps.
well the net speed is very very slow almost for 75% of ADSL users...I tried to contact Q-tel abt it and they said they r working on something so ther server will be down or slow for 1-2 week....Lets see how much we have to wait

I had a similar experience last week. I'm not a computer person, but wanted to exhaust all my options before calling Qtel. I unplugged EVERYTHING connected to the internet (computers, printers, routers, modems.) After letting them rest for about 15 minutes I plugged everything back in and it has worked fine since.
