Start your computer in Safe mode.

1. click - start menu -> type %temp% enter

2. Delete all the files in the "temp" folder

3. Delete all the files in the "temporary internet files"

4. start menu --> type "msconfig" enter

5. Disable any suspicious start up entries from the list.

6. Restart the computer.

Hopefully your computer will be working normal , then reply here , i will tell how to remove those entries form registry permanently.

Thanks & all the best

Here are some other alternatives:

- Download free software called 'Malwarebytes', install, scan and clean the virus.

- Download free software called 'McAfee Stinger', scan and clean the virus.

- Lastly, scan and clean using your McAfee Antivirus

Do all the steps, hope these will help to clean the virus, Good luck!

Do what JAMOS said..

By the way...Do u use the ADMINISTRATOR account to login to the computer? if not then u can the Admin account to login and remove that Antivirus or use the safemode if u were using the Admin account already.

System restore can also help you..if u knw the date when the virus attacked..

Have you tried System Restore? When there's something wrong with my computer, this has always been the best way for me to solve any problem. Select a restore point (such as yesterday or last week when your computer was working just fine)and everything would be okay afterwards.

This link might help you: http://www.spywarevoid.com/remove-security-shield-securityshield-removal-steps.html

Or run in safe mode and make a full scan of your PC using your Antivirus Software.

I suggest that before doing what I'm suggesting below , using a different non-infect PC/Laptop>>> Go to Google >>> do a search on the "Security shield anti-virus" and you'll find tons of forums that will walk you thru how to get rid of this. Keep in mind the file name like sdfertweg.exe keep changing but the underlying malware is the same

The fix recommended by Jamos will not work in this situation either. Its sitting in the registry and will continue to change its .exe name to XXXXXX.EXE every time the system is rebooted. My laptop was infected by a similar. Its a root-kit virus and these are particularly nasty. The good news is, its not all gloom and doom.

FYI - in addition to Malware bytes that s mentioned below, you will also need a Registry cleaner that will first delete the malicious registry entries.Any of the forums that you find after the Google search, that have a walk-thru of the fix will also have a link to the Registry cleaner required. So that said.....

1) Go to download.com ( or CNET.Com and then the downloads section)

2)Download Malwarebytes software.

3)Install it and run the update first to update its malware definition list

4) Once installed- run a FULL system scan with all diagnostic options within the software turned-on.

5) Once the scan (which may take a couple of hours)is compete ,and it presents the list of virus's/malware if found just follow the default steps recommended by Malwarebyte to delete them

All of the above should be done in safe-mode.

I'm not a I.T guy but these were the steps I followed to get rid of the infection.

Once again....you will need to find the registry cleaner that will specifically delete the malicious registry entries in addition to Malware Bytes.

That is not anti-virus software, that IS the virus that faking clearing your PC.

It happened to me once.

What you can do is to google it and you will find a forum that teach you step by step on how to delete it manually. Anti-virus software can't clear it.

Don't worry, this 'problem' is very common.

Just follow the instruction from that forum.

Good luck!

You cant uninstall that in control panel. It will try to hide itself but you can find it in your temporary folder with usual name as e.g. weq23123EQ.exe.

What you have to do.

Boot in safe mode.

Run msconfig

Go to startup

Look for any program which is not associated with microsoft or any other known software. Usually its in the local settings temp folder location

Uncheck it. Then find the folder location and delete it manualy.

Try to reboot.

If it did not work, try to post here again and we will try to solve your problem.
