Connect the router to your laptop via ethernet cable.Open your internet browser.
Type in the router address
It will ask you for a username and password. THese usually set as a default
Username: admin
Password: password.
Sometimes, the password is the same as the username.
THis will then connect you to the settings for the router, and navigate to the 'Security' settings. Here you change the password for wi-fi. You may need the old security settings in order to change to the new ones.
failing that, you can also look on the back of the router. Some of them have a very small reset button, where you insert a ball point pen and this will restore all factory settings. However, this will also mean the wifi settings will have no security password and so your wifi is open access.
