Firewire to USB Help
By angelopaolo •
I have a camcoder, no hard disk, and using dv tapes to capture videos. Now, i want to transfer my videos (in dv tapes playable in my camcoder)to my laptop. My camcoder has the firewire port but unfortunately, my laptop has none, only USB ports. Some firewire cables I checked have only firewire sockets on both ends, I can't find firewire to USB cables. My questions are:
1. Do you know any shops where I can find the right "adaptor" for it?
2. If lucky enough, what software must I have to complete the video tranfer to my laptop?
I'm sorry if I haven't stated my case clearly. I am not that expert when it comes to these technical "terms".
Thanks in advance.
wire adaptors wont work.. you need a computer/laptop with a firewire port.. or if your laptop has an express card slot, you can buy a Firewire Card bus..
Check in the Sofitel Complex for the cable which has got firewire pin on one side and usb pin on the other side. I am sure you will find it.
software... check first what format your recorder was recording. (check settings on the recorder for this)
most likely you will have a player on your PC that can play your files.
what you ask does exist.. see the links below
