I believe in Kaspersky Anti virus. Its the best what you can get! If you are using a higher end system and frequent vistor of download sites, add avast too in addition to kaspersy. You will never think about anti virus ever!!

Eset NOD32 AV or Eset Smart Security. My recommended Anti-Virus, low memory usage plus threatsense technology for detecting latest virus in the wild before it catches your PC.

Kaspersky is the best...I learnt it through a very hard expereince...recently my PC got infected by some virus while I was "Fully Protected" by Mcafee...I tried a lot of anti-virus programs...none of them able to do anything...they all scanned and said no potential threat...but even that moment the virus keeps opening hundreds of browser instances..I was sick and tired until my friend told me about kaspersky. I installed and "Bingo"..that virus which was troubling me was removed right away and it found nearly 10 more potentially unsafe programs..My computer works much much faster since then...peace of mind..finally...

The only software that capable to detect and delete BRONTOX virus is Kaspersky Anti-Virus Personal Pro.

Self updated and not disturbing your RAM.

Try "windows live onecare" it protects your PC nicely and it even helps you to automatically back up your PC and you can also get the 90days free trial version

I tried AVG which is certainly better than Norton but the firewall interferes with many broadband applications.

NOD32 is my choice for a good Antivirus solution for the PC, It does not load your PC and has minimum interference, in fact you will think that it does not exist.

Try Avast anti-virus. It's free for home user.

Fully agree with baldrick on the regular updating.

Have been using McAfee for five years now without problems and up-date automatically on line.

Someone earlier recommended a site, read up on-line and then decide.

PANDA Antivirus is good and you can do an online scan of your pc.

If you are looking for a freeware AVG Antivirus to be good.

I had a problem a few years ago when McAfee let a virus through and screwed my PC so I switched to Norton. I'm now running Kaspersky which seems to stop everything including some USB stick viruses that Norton didn't recognise.

Remeber though, which ever you choose, your anti virus software needs regular updates or it quickly becomes useless
