Good morning,
i have QTELS ADSL connection( not wireless).it was installed in my living room which i want to shift to my bed room. how can i install adsl adaptor to my phone line in bedroom?( i dont want to run cable ) where can i get that and how much it costs? plz advice me.
thanks
If you mean that you don't want to run a network cable from there to your room, would running an ADSL line from the point to inside the room be a problem? If not then ask any of those telephony shops to make an ADSL telephony cable for you, I know that the one comes with Q-Tel is really short.
If not then you have to buy a new wireless router or just ask Q-Tel to come and shift that point ...
I have 3 phone sockets one in living room, other 2 in bed rooms.can u plz tel me how much a ADSL filter costs ..coz u know sofitel u need 2 bargain .
thanks,
how many sockets have you got in your home?
I)If more than one>
Purchase an adsl filter from radioshack or any electronic shop. connect your modem to it ..and voila
II)If you have got 1 telephone socket only>
i) larger tel extension to move the modem to another room
ii)larger cat5 ethernet cable. leaving the modem at the same location.
iii) get yourself a belkin(wireless/non-wireless) "home adapter" or "powerline adapter" like Powerline Turbo Starter Kit F5D4073 . Your internet signals will ride in encrypted format over you electricity lines and will be decrypted via the 2nd adapter(they come in pairs) on the other end where you plug in a ethernet cable to your computer.
the easiest way to do it is to install Wireless, if you don't want to do that then you need to get Qtel to come and move the ADSL connection to the Bed room
