QTA to strengthen its ties with the French Tourism at Top Resa
IFTM Top Resa expo is one of France’s well known travel industry event.
After the successful participation last year, this year the Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA) is planning to reap the utmost benefit from it and to maximize its presence.
The QTA is hoping to display the varied attractions in Qatar and its leisure and recreational activities in a 100 square meter exhibition stand.
Also, QTA will be issuing a joint Qatar-Oman Visa due to the piqued interest that the French travelers in Oman have over Qatar.
Qatar is beginning to grow into a popular tourist destination among the French specially due to expanding aviation links through Qatar Airways and also due to the QTA’s collaboration with Paris Saint-Germaine.
Qatar also had a presence in high end French events like Chantilly Arts & Elegance and Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe.
Rashed Al Qurese, the Chief Marketing and Promotions Officer at the QTA has said, “The 8% increase in French visitors to Qatar recorded during the first half of 2015 reflects the success of our initiatives promoting interest in the destination amongst the French travel trade and the general public.”
He also added, “France is Qatar’s second largest market in Europe and we welcomed nearly 43,000 visitors last year. We believe there is even greater potential for further growth in the future.”
In fact, QTA opened its Paris representative office in 2013 and now 20 French tour operators feature Qatar.
Also, over 500 French individuals have so far applied for the QTA’s online destination training course, Tawash, and around 189 of them have successfully graduated to become Qatar tourism experts.
“IFTM Top Resa provides Qatar with an important platform for further expanding the highly successful online destination training program for travel agents and other tourism professionals in the French market,” Al Qurese added, noting that visitors to the QTA stand will have the opportunity to sign up to join the ‘Tawash’ program and meet some of the successful graduates of the course.
