Sticky hair question...

I need some help...

On Friday afternoon I went to the gym and washed my hair, I just used Herbal Essences which I have used for years. When my hair dried, it was all gooey and stick, and looked like I had gel on it. Saturday the same again, but I tried a different shampoo/conditioner! Sunday I spoke to some of the people in work, after going in with gooey hair, and they suggested maybe the heat is affecting the shampoo/conditioner. So last night I had a shower after going on the treadmill, washed my hair, same thing. Bought some new shampoo/conditioner and the same thing has happened to my hair this morning(and I kept this new one in the fridge so it didnt get too hot)...

Has anyone else experienced this? I figure that it cant be the shampoo or the water (as I live with others), so it must be my hair. Any suggestions as to how I can get my hair back to normal...

Please only sensible suggestions, this is starting to get me really down, and I'm not sure what to do.

Sweetpal - I dont think it can be the salt else my family would have the same thing wouldnt they?

Q_UICK - Friday wasnt the first time I've been to the gym, I've been alot, its just started from friday onwards.

Although, I will try not going to the gym and see if this makes a difference.

Thank you for the suggestions so far, and I am pleased I'm not the only one to suffer! So i'm not going crazy!!

hi friend

i m a health care guide.what i understand is that .your perspiration(as you excercise in GYM) continues even after your shower.Therfore your sweating could create mix reaction with the chemicals present in your shamppo/conditioner.So dont go for gym for the next few days.try usual showers and then let me know whether the problems persists.then we can take next action of checking salinity of the water.

all the best

Hi there .. my wife is having the same exact problem since last week. I was surprised to see your thread about the same issue.

In her case, it couldn't be the shampoo cause i am using the same product that she uses.

We are doing a research now .. will let you know if we get any information or solution to this annoying thing.

Miss X - I'm definitely using the shampoo as shampoo, and conditioner as conditioner, and its definitely all washed out :o)

I've not done anything to my hair i.e. colour it/perm it, its just happened completely out of the blue!

my cousin is a highly professional hair dresser, if you like i will ask him ... but you know it is not good to use the same shampoo always ...also you need to be sure of the ph of your hair,,,, for me i suggest you not to wash your hair with shampoo and keep it without shampoo for some days just water.... or change the shampoo... and if you really need a professional expert dont hesitate to call cousin ((saying that Abdallah Haider gave me your number (he is my cousin Name Wael)his mobile is 3254282....

Sounds like you are using the conditioner as shampoo or the conditioner isn't rinsing out properly. That's the only thing I can think of unless you've done something else to your hair that is reacting with the shampoo/conditioner. Maybe try buying some distilled water from the shops and rinsing your hair with that to see if there are chemicals in the normal tap water that are causing it.
