Jakleen Beauty Center

A few days back i had visited Jakleen Beauty Center this so-called "Beauty Parlor" for a hair oil massage. Since it was next to my new home, i thought why not give it a try. What i experienced in there could be called HORRIFYING! Upon entering the salon i noticed the only people in there were the workers and one old lady who claimed to be the owner. When i told her what i wanted, for the first 10 minutes she could'nt understand what i was asking for. That's alright, i thought. Language barrier. Then she made me wait on a chair for what seemed like eternity! When she came back she had a little bowl in her hand in which there was oil as much as two spoonfuls, which astonished me because i have hair reaching my waist. Then very conviniently she herself put the oil in my hair with her fingertips and that was all. No massage nothing whatsoever. I gave her a dumb found look. Later she summoned one of her girls to take me upstairs, i thought maybe now the real massage would happen. The girl in question was a nepali girl and the moment she started with the hair malish i knew she knows nothing about the job. I could honestly say they were the worst pair of hands to ever touch my hair. She was so forceful and i felt at one point she would rip apart all my hair. My head was exploding inside. I could no longer stand it and i finally asked her where had she learnt her "art" from. To my surprise (or maybe not) she told me she was doing it for the first time and she herself did not know what she was doing. I was ashtonished. I asked her why her employer had not given her any sort of training, to which she replied that these girls are brought on the pretext of a maid job but then when they arrive here thier passports are taken away by the employers and are made to do every job there is. I was really shocked at her answer. She told me they were payed really low, about 800 riyals per month and were given bad treatment.

I came out of the parlor feeling disgusted and cheated. For the exhorbitant prices this parlor charges, they dont give even the basic good service! I would refrain anyone to go in this particular salon. If they are operating a salon, the workers atleast ought to know thier job well. With this kind of tratment, they are only cheating us and robbing us of our hard earned money without leaving us satisfied with what we wanted. Its better if such organisations are boycotted and not tolerated at all.
