Can males wear earrings?

pedrolics
By pedrolics

Hi I'm a 14 year old male and I am planning on getting gauges in my ear lobes (small ones about 10g) and I wanted to make sure it's acceptable in Qatar. Also I need to know if it's acceptable for males to wear earrings in the school Qatar Academy, because that's where I'll be attending next year. Thank you so much get back to me ASAP because this has been holding me back towards getting my ears pierced ;D!

Thanks!

~Pedro

pedro do what you like... yes you might be a lil' too young to pierce your ears. I got my first ear piercing after high school and a year later got my other ear as well...

I feel sorry for some of the people who think earrings for men are "gay" , are you guys so shallow and insecure about your sexuality ?

Friend, Body piercing is a just a passing fancy among the fashion conscious crowd. This fancy may last or may not last for a long time. But one thing is certain, once you pierce your body it is permanent. It is quite expensive to "unpierce" it. Plastic surgery costs quite a bit. So do not invest in a possible liability when you are fourteen. Wait for some more time.

answer is : even for girls a long ear rings are not allowed in the schools. So DO NOT EVEN TRY to wear it.

go on mate and do it. its just an ear-ring and if u get bored of it, just take it off. the piercing hole is not even noticeable. i did it during my first yr in uni and it was not bad at all and the gals luv it too.

body art and body ornamentation is not for everyone. its different strokes for different folks.

quicky answering ur question: it is ok for u to do it and nobody will actually mind at school.

and personally i think u shld totally do it. there ain't much crazy things u can do in this country when u r in ur age so u can at least get ur ears pierced ;o)

even if someone wld be making u problems at school, u can always remove it for classes and put it back when u leave school.

u live only once, so don't let ppl put u up to their own standards!

Dear Baldricks2dogs,

I did not see Either Jack Sparrow nor Barbossa wearing the earrings. Have a closer look !!

During those old days, only slaves were wearing earrings. It serves as identity that they belong to their masters. Why not let the women alone wear it?

do whatever you want,, i't not banned in the country but school might not allow however i'v seen few students wearing it in classes.

Now, as seth99000 & some others write that wearing earnings would attract more gals & u would be different from generic public is holy crap. You should be confident on yourself, keep yourself well stylish without needing to pierce your ears. I'v had plenty of gals at my time without a single pierce.

Sure you can. I do not have one, but hell why not. Men walk in Doha holding hands. When they greet they kiss, rub noses etc. I see that as Gay, and apparently I am wrong. So go for it.

lol I don't think anyone here has understood the concept of gauges.

Earrings you MAY get away with in school, but I doubt they would let you in with gauges. That would even be pushing it in some private schools in Western countries. In public you can get away with it I imagine, just probably not in the schools.

what is your father saying..?

ask him for an advice if you hesitate.

Dont listen to the idiots here...bottom line, do what feels comfortable for you. I have both my ears pierced and I couldn't be happier (not to mention the ladies love them) It makes you stand out among the sea of generic men here ... and as you can see by the comments, most of the people here small minded, ignorant and mildly retarded...so who cares what they think, its not like they will ever have the balls to say anything. As for the school, pierced ears do not affect your ability to get grades. It shouldn't matter to them.

So go ahead, enjoy yourself.

Alright so...

1. I'm not gay.

2. I'm not a pirate.

3. There not womanly "earrings" there small gauges (you might want to search them in google).

4. I mean maybe I could make a fashion statement or something.

5. I think I'm going to shoot an email to the admin of Qatar academy but what should I say? Saying it's my cultures is a good idea but I'm not sure how I could convince them that.

Thing about pierced male ears being gay is one of the dumbest shit I've ever heard. Some of us here with pierced ears 'got lucky' with more chicks then some of the baboons, who think its gay, have ever talked to.

@ the topic

Yes you can pierce it, but theres a whole lot of deal with it. 1st of all I think your just too young, second, there comes a whole dressing sense with it. Otherwise, you'll just look like a wanabe, you dont want that. As far as the school is concerned, wear it for a couple of months & then it'll just be permanent, meaning then you'd be able to take it off for days & still be able to put it back in when you want to.

By Bunga• 9 Aug 2009 19:25

I think there is no stopping you outside of school hours. But during school hours, highly likely that it is not allowed. Check with the school.

Very controversial questions I have to say... you've got a lot of messages from: "Cool!!!" to "Fagg*t!!"

You have to choose your own way.

My contribution:

Earring in men is accepted by almost everybody in case you are a sailor and you have crossed one/or both of the major capes.

Cape of Hornos: one earring.

Cape of Buenaesperanza: one earring.

So you can have two, you choose one in each ear or both in same. But remember to do the very advanced sailing training before try... :)

Hello Pedro,

Please do not get distracted with all these wordly things until you complete your schooling. Study hard and get a job. Then you spend your own money and do all this show off business.

No, Pedro. Why Earings, it is for women or for men with alternative life style. Accademy will not allow you to exhibit your Jewellary.

They are the ones to provide you with first hand info on dress code within the school.

Now you know exactly what to do, right? Wear one earring in your right ear for those who allow it, and wear no earring in your left ear for those who prohibit it.
