WATCH: Eid celebrations across the globe
With Eid Al Adha right around the corner, this edition of QL Flashback Fridays offers a look at some of the ways people across the globe celebrate the blessed occasion of Eid.
Although Muslims the world-over begin the first day of the festivity with the early morning Eid prayer, each country has its unique set of traditions that enhance the joy of the occasion.
In Egypt, many people enjoy cruising along the Nile River in traditional sailing boats made out of wood while in the Yunnan province of China, people gather to pay tribute to a 13th-century provincial governor for his services to the Yuan dynasty.
In some countries like Moscow, due to a shortage of mosques, large crowds gather to offer prayers on the streets, in a stunning display of religious devotion, brotherhood, and unity.
And in Qatar, individuals and families have a plethora of activities to choose from.
