Islamic Art: 'The Kingdom of Geometry' Exhibition is now open at Katara
Cultural Village Foundation - Katara and the Embassy of People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria have opened 'The Kingdom of Geometry' Exhibition by renowned artist Mohammed Talhaoui.
The exhibition opened for visitors on 4th January, 2019 at building 19, and will continue until 12th January, The Peninsula reported.
The exhibition includes around 24 pieces of art that showcase Islamic geometric and architecture designs.
According to Gulf Times, Talhaoui travelled all around the Islamic and Arab world to examine and collect the Islamic architecture and combine it with scientific methods. Early in his life, Talhaoui noticed the relationship between science and the geometrical decorative nature of Islamic art.
Talhaoui has stated that the aim of the exhibition is to share with everyone an amazing and unpublished discovery: "Here, before our eyes, through the geometrical ornamental art, the secrets of the universal laws are unfolded and expressed in a beautiful and perfect way", he elaborated.
Addressing the patrimonial legacy of the art, Talhaoui added: "We hope through, over the years and through a collective awareness to interpret the mysteries of this priceless legacy".
