when will we stop losing our friends in this country just because some dictator ( if I may put it this way )decided to cancel them ... why do we have to leave the country for two years and lose every thing we built just because some one will benefit from our suffering ,
Qatar the great booming country ... the heart of the middle east and the aspire of the gulf area , speaks of human rights , but yet only speaks ,when will these words of a modern nation be put into action and this country be the leader of free society as it is the leader of peace and good intentions , free society . and just to be clear ( Islam is a guide to a free , liberal and progressing culture and society ) so being an Islamic country should be a motivator to conserve humans right to stay , work , live a healthy life in a great place like Qatar .
so in conclusion I would like to point out that it’s about time for Qatar to follow the steps of Bahrain and change the working laws .and about time for expats to stand together and cry it out loud (we want our freedom and to hell with the slavery system disguised under the name of kafala that is practiced un justly in this modern country ...
Please don’t be shy to let me hear your comments or you partisipation in more articles .

And thank you all

What is your problem. Every Country can make their own rules, you must be naive or stupid not seeing that. Try to get a Work Visa in Europe and you will see more stringent rules. I find the Rules here fair compared to many other places. AND remember a Law is a law and we as Guests to the Country has nothing to say. The Laws are to protect the Citizens of the Country, not Guests. And calling this a Dictatorship is also plain stupid

agree with you. Many of us having familys here our kids born here.but if we having another good opportunities to antoher company but we can not have it because of 2yrs ban.this really feel bad and hurts. you stay here long and make like your 2nd home.and atlast you realized end of the day you are nothing.many of us also did there best for there companys, even working hours are only Nine as par law but to make best for company we do 12 to 15 hrs without overtime atlast some one will come and make out from your work because he want his own peple or whom he want to bring here thats why the person have to loose his job.because some one only dont like him.

i pray and hope some day what we feel proud to work in doha will become true.

Hey buddy, try getting into the USA without a sponsor on a work visa. Good luck and tell us what happens! While I agree Bahrain did the right thing (and keep in mind you still need a sponsor to enter Bahrain on a work visa), Qatar has to protect it's interests, and only the people of Qatar and Qatar's government know best what those are, so it is not for you and me as visitors to debate.

What you talk about is the political direction of a country, i suspect that it does not suit you therefore it must be unjust. Have you looked at the other 'free' countries such as India, USA & UK. I suspect that they too have unfair laws, but they just do not get highlighted. Wake up dear person, Do you call France a free country which bans a persons right to wear what they want.

Do think exploitation does not happen in the western 'Free' world, I am afraid that it happens there just much but is draped in fancy words and behaviours.

If you dont like it i suggest you go to another 'Free' country, maybe France.......
