Hi, i live in egypt but my dad is in Doha and wanted to buy an AR Drone 2.0, it is like a helicopter controled from your ipad or whatever and hav a camera in it, it is not available in egypt so some friend got it from Dubai so when he was going to qatar to give it my dad who WILL SEND IT TO EGYPT they took it from him in the airport because of the camera and they are scared of spying etc. What should we do ??? they said we need a permission from the ministry or something that has to do with the police, what should we do and how to get it ?

Thanks in Advance !

I would agree with Costa - Take it as a lesson learnt and move on.

1- I believe these things are not allowed into Egypt as well for the same reasons, and the customs guys will confiscate it for good if they see it.

2- I can't answer your question about the procedure required in Qatar, but do you really wanna go through that headache? wish someone can inform you on those procedures.

3- These Helicopters, although banned in Egypt, a different version of it (controllable by remote / without a cam) sells for around LE 500.

4- If I was in your shoes, I would just forget the whole thing. I guess you may have the option to send them back where they cam from (Dubai), maybe customs in Qatar would accept that.
