5000 INR is minimum balance for federal bank INDIA

NRO AND NRE

for open new account -

5000 minimum balance to be maintain in NRE/NRO account. I have a NRE/NRO account with SBI and during opening of account they have asked me to keep maintain minimum balance to avoid any charges.

Hope it depends on rural/urban branches and it the maximum may be Rs.3000- (have to double check)
