Although it is a very old post but in current year 2020 also it is very costly. Mostly the labor charges is makes bill too big compare to part cost. If get done outside repair that may not be perfect and get end up going in authorised service to rectify.

No doubt VW car s runs well but if you can get 3 years old the expenses will be lesser compared to 5year or later which require majority of bush and mount changes.

Please nobody should go to Newtons that egyptian man killed me he took all my money. I gave him 1800 riyal for my ac to get repaired, he changed the ac fan and still the same and asked me to change the temperature controler and asked me for 5000 and 2000 extra as his service charge. honestly i swear i got it repaired for jst 800 riyal it was only the complaint of the water pump. So please the people there are just the fox wearing the cloth of the sheep. So its a humble request. I found a good mechanic in industrial area 10. my car is audi and he repair all kind of german cars. 66227692 thats their number. very very economical trust me all.

Thanks for the answer. Like MALRAYES said I was in German Car Inspection on Salwa. Unfortunately to many things to do in this VW :( What a pity I really loved drive this car. Well I must find something else. Any sugestion ? Budget about 40 000

There is a good car repair shop in Barwa Village new Wakra, its called Newton Garage, its next to Q-Tire in Barwa Village

While VW is no doubt a good car, it could not grab the market here. There are just too few of them on the roads. This could be due to the company's marketing strategy and after-sales service which includes the cost and easy availability of spares.

We have a VW too - the service is more expensive, but it is only done once a year - for Nissan, you do service every 3 months. So I think it all comes to around the same...

Yeah VW is expensive for maintenance & services..with 2007 model i'm pretty sure you will spent more money dude.
