Dear friends,

This is for my friend who is working in Qatar. He joined a firm in Qatar before 9 months and he is working for this company even signing the job contract. Is it illegal?

What will be the consequence of this action by the company and what is the legal formality for him.
Can we work without sign any contract with the company? The company gave him an employment id issued by the Qatar Ministry. How will he get the employment id without sign any contract?.

Now he is facing the salary problem and the salary is delayed for more than 4 months. Is he secure here?.You don't think that he is a laborer or uneducated person,he is well educated and experienced more than 6 years. He is new in Qatar ,especially in GCC. He don't know the rules and HR polices of Qatar.
Anybody please do reply .
regards,
Your friend.

Ok , I'm in the same position as your friend. My salary is late for one month, and as I heard it will be problem and for the next salary. I signed the contract before I came here, but as I heard now, my contract is not valid. I got my ID and I would like to change my company. How I can do that. Do I need NOC from my company? Any news from your friends and how it went out for him. Thank you, any information will be of big help for me

Yes! He could approach labour court with the valid Identity card but make sure that the company name in the id and the company that he is working with, are same. And also if he has previous salary receipts that would also help him prove his point. But after all this he might have to go back to his own country. There are also chances of getting NOC from the present company upon the instruction of the court incase if he wants to work in qatar in another company.

There is no sign for renewing the visa. There is no information from company regarding the renewal. As per the Employee Id the visa is valid for one year and renewable.

He is working for this company even signing the job contract. Then why r u worried? If company is not paying u according to job contract approach labour court with your contract they will help u.

i guess ur friend is working with secondment which is legal to the labour law and immigration in Qatar.the only difference is that, it must be renewed every 6 months. so to answer ur question, it's possible under this secondment law to work without signing any contract. beside, he is free to leave any time he wishes.

best regards

charles
