Soup Salty: Place a raw peeled potato in the bowl, it will absorb the extra salt.

Sink (Blocked): To clear the blocked drain pipe of your kitchen sink, mix 1/2 cup sodium bicarbonate in 1 cup vinegar and pour it into the sink, and pour about 1 cup water. In an hour the drain pipe will open.

Tomato: To remove the skin of tomatoes, place them in warm water for 5-10 minutes. The skin can then be easily peeled off.

When tomatoes are not available or too costly, substitute with tomato puree or tomato ketchup/sauce.

Place overripe tomatoes in cold water and add some salt. Overnight they will become firm and fresh.

Sugar: Put 2-3 cloves in the sugar to keep ants at bay.

Potato: To bake potatoes quickly, place them in salt water for 15 minutes before baking.

Use the skin of boiled potatoes to wipe mirrors to sparkling clean.

Don't store potatoes and onions together. Potatoes will rot quickly if stored with onions.

I have a few: refrigerate onions before cutting to avoid crying

To get a banana free from the 'stringy things' peel from the opposite end...that's what primates do.

To warm biscuits, pancakes, or other breads that were refrigerated, place them in a microwave with a cup of water. This keeps the food moist.

No more mosquitos! Place a dryer sheet in your pocket!

Reducing static: Pin a small safety pin to the seam of you skirt, dress or slacks. Slip won't cling to skirt or dress and panty hose won't cling to slacks/pants.

If you seal an envelope and realize that you forgot to include something, place the sealed envelope in the freezer for an hour or two. It will unseal easily.

Use hair conditioner for shaving your legs! Smooth!

Both FS & MissX are right

For more detail method

Combine one cup of white or distilled vinegar with one quart of warm water.

Find newspaper to use as your cleaning cloth. Crumple the newspaper into usable sizes. Use newspapers that do not use a soy-based ink.

Clean the mirror first to remove any heavy dirt or marks. Use plain water to do the pre-cleaning. Use a cloth with a tight weave, which is more soft and non-abrasive.

Dip the newspaper into the vinegar water solution after pre-cleaning is finished. Rub the newspaper in slow circles across the mirror. Cover the entire surface of the mirror.

Go over the wet areas with a dry portion of newspaper. This will leave the mirror dry and keep drip marks from drying onto the surface.

I've got one, that for some reason I am proud of knowing.

If you wipe shaving cream over your bathroom mirror and then polish it off with newspaper, your mirror won't fog up from the steam. Has to be redone every so often.
