Unlocked iPhone

I will soon be moving to Doha and I'm bringing my unlocked iPhone 3GS. The phone comes from Canada and was unlocked by apple after I completed my contract obligations (all legal..no jailbreaking). My questions are:

Can I use it in Doha?

If I do use it will I have to get it locked to the local company?
*I've been using in Canada with another company on a data plan listed for a blackberry....works fine though.

If it does get locked to the local wireless company will they unlock it when I leave?

Phones are not locked here.

Just put the QTEL sim in...
