Dear All

I need some advice in regards to travelling for Umra by car. I myself with my family is travelling for Umra soon in toyota corolla and need to know is it safe to drive. How much time does it normally takes from Doha to Medina and Medina to Mecca and Mecca to Doha. I am thinking of covering each way in two days. Please advice if any one know any good place to stay while travelling to Medina and on way back to Doha. In addition if any one can share maps as well.

Your help is much appreciated.

Thanks

Dear Paki786 and Jeanclaude. I really appreciate you both replied and guided me through. It really helps me in deciding. I downloaded the maps and I hope everything goes well for me. I need to know whether we can stay in Riyadh to spend night on both ways and carry on the journey in the morning.

Hello, I have just retruned by car this sunday. I went to Makkah first and then returned from Madina to Doha. While going, after Riyadh, there are big sign bords giving you the option of either to go towards Makkah or Medina so till Riyadh its the same. I started at 11.30 am in the morning and by 7 I touched Riydh. Approximately after 650 kms from Saudi border, you'll find lots of rest rooms / hotel on the right hand side of the road where you can stay for 5 to 6 hours. We started next morning at 5.30 am and reached Meeqat at arnd 12 noon. Mekkah to MEdina is arnd 400 kms, very nice roads and should not be a problem. On my way bak from Medina, I didnt stayed at Riyad and reached Doha in one go after arnd 15 hrs of almost non-stop driving. There are boards every where to help so I dont think you require any maps.
