i was thinkng between these two cars, and since i'm not into it i decided to get any advices from friends,i really like the looks of a fortuner coz its 7seater's plus its quite big! but friends told me about the problems i may encounter with it.they said that the body did'nt match the engine. while the xtrail is only 5 seater's,not that big but i don't have any idea about it's performance. pls help!!! tnx!

Fortuner is made in Thailand or Indonesia and X-Trail is made in Japan. However, the Fortuner is a bigger car.

I would take any Nissan over any Toyota any day. I hate Toyotas. They do cost cutting in places you don't even want to imagine.

Using Fortuner for the last 3 years with no problems whatsoever. Used Scorpio earlier & managed to get rid of.

Used Mercedes & Land cruiser also earlier & looking forward to go for 4wd BMW now.

As a rule if I want to buy a car I always look in the internet for reviews, specially from consumers. There you will find a lot of helpful informations.

I had an x trail before and had an expensive engine repair, its a fact that they have some design flaw in their engine. Fortuner in the other hand is based on a pick up truck, so don't expect a comfortable ride, besides its prone to rollover.

Maybe you can consider a honda crv, its not perfect but much better.

Note: previously owned a toyota and nissan before presently happy with honda now.

Cheers!

Go for Toyota Fortuner but make sure you get the 6 Cylinder 4.0 ltr engine :)

For sure you will not regret it compare to Nissan X-Trail.

Thanks.

86 to 91....just diff of 5K, I think go for fortuner,

tnx baldrick2dogs and formatted, i did the comparisson for the two based on it's price, since the agents offered us a huge discount for xtrail,2011 model is 86,000 from the original price of 96thou and the fortuner is 98thou,but can be discounted with 7thou so it's 91thou.

i cannot afford the xterra, lol! any idea with fortuners performance?tnx!
