School Bus System?

Hello
I have few questions about school bus system in Doha for private North American Schools.
1. Is it safe to send kids on school bus or do parents mostly drive kids to school?
2. Do other people respect school busses/ambulances while driving or do they cut off these vehicles as well.
3. Do the bus drivers usually drive responsibly?
4. Are there any known incidents/accidents with school busses that you guys are aware of?
Any help or advice related to this would be greatly appreciated as I have kids and their safety is the highest priority for me.
Thanks

Unless you are employed at CNA-Q I doubt if you can register your child at the Canadian School.

I was under the assumption that all schools have busses. I guess this is not true. My kids will be going in Kindergarten. If I have an option to put my kids to any school, which school would you recommend? btw, how is the rating of this Canadian School?

Thanks

Canadian School does offer bussing - the rest of what Deedee says is pretty accurate.

Canadian school does not have school buses that I am aware of.

American School does offer school bus service, for a hefty added fee.

The bus picks up my kids at 6:50 am for a 45 minute ride to ASD. There is a bus driver and a bus monitor on each bus. Hopefully at least 1 of them speaks English. Unfortunately they are not always the best trained people. The buses do have seatbealts for each child. The drivers drive pretty safely, but other drivers treat buses no different, they still cut them off, change lanes in front of them, etc. It would probably be much safer to drive your own children each day, but not all of us have the time to do that. In 5+ years here, no serious accidents have occured with the school buses.

You need to determine which school your children will attend (where you are accepted) and then see if they even offer school bus service. If not, plan to find a villa near the school to avoid spending all your time in the car.
