RP Expiring

Hi guys, I have seen quite a lot of good advices given to people here regarding visa. I am planning to travel next month. But by the time I am coming back, my RP would have expired. Now, the thing is, I am a European citizen who can get tourist visa on arival. Can I come here, apply for a tourist visa, then after its expiry, re-apply for my RP to be renewed since I have 3 month reprieve to renew it.

I know few of you would tell me to renew my RP. It takes couple of days. But I can't as I need some documents to do that. And that I am not sure if I can get those documents before I travel.

So what can you advise me?

Once you have already a qatar rp, you can no longer apply a qatar tourist visa.

I was told that if you are out of the country when it expires you have to start all over again.
