Road to Sealine - Accidents

Hello!

I'm a university student and I'm doing a project on the road to sealine. I was wondering if anyone lost someone on that road or knows someone who lost someone because of the dangers of sealine. Perhaps a parent, anyone who doesn't mind being filmed, please leave a message.

Thank you!

It's a sad thing Oryx. :( I wish that all these accidents would make them drive safer, but it doesn't seem like they will.

I suggest asking around your University. I doubt there's a family in Qatar that hasn't lost a member to that road or the dunes.

Sure, smoke. But shouldn't there be ethical borders to reporting? Maybe I am too sensitive. Sorry.

May be i would..may be not...the point being you calling the project grotesque...what for? Just coz the person is not from some official "news" channel or something? I was merely trying to point out that such things have been done before..its called reporting..clearly mentioned by the OP to voice out the concerns of there being the need for safety measures on that road..which i agree with.

LP people do it all the time on news channels, why should this be any different.

LFC, it is grotesque to expect someone who has lost a loved one to talk about it in front of your camera.

The Minister of Business and trade in Qatar died on May 2009in a car accident on Al-Wakra road, after a Land Cruiser had lost the control of the car from the opposite side and crashed head to head with the minister car, the crash was very powerful and the minister died instantly.

It is not a grotesque subject, to be honest our story is about how dangerous the road is and us wanting to contact people who lost someone they love would give a stronger voice for officials to get on the move and fix the road. This person we might interview could make a difference and maybe save other lives.

I didn't know that Sealine made dangers....I thought it was the drivers...

You'd rather leave that alone and concentrate on the dangers that the road offers - single laned, no streetlights, volume of traffic during the weekend, inebriated drivers, dangerous driving and overtaking, buggies suddenly crossing the road, vehicle stunts (4 wheel drives driving on two wheels at an angle), vehicles with non functioning headlamps/tailights, no speed limits etc.

You'll get tons of pictures online (past issues from peninsula, gulf times and other newspapers) - i'd suggest you leave the people/deceased involved away from your report. Statistics from the police/traffic police would help you too.

Let me know if your report does make some change. Then you can do another report on the number of minor accidents at the Jaidah flyover roundabout.

You really have a grotesque fantasy. There was a Sheikh being killed. Maybe you ask the Al Thani family.
