Rent Commission on Rent Contract Renewal?!!!
Hi everybody,
I'm facing a situation which is difficult and surprising. I am the tenant of a flat 3 bhk f/f since 3 years; few months ago the building changed property while my contract was on course, and they made a new contract to cover the outstanding 3 months. However in December they told me that new contract starting january will be increased more than 20%. I was very upset but I agreed because didn't have time to look for other options and move.
Now they are also asking me to pay commission! Just I don't understand on the base of what as:
- it's a renewal, are we supposed to pay commissions every year?
- they are owners, not a real estate agency doing intermediation
Do you have any base to support my thoughs?
If u are having a direct agreement then yes, u do not need to pay any "Service Commission" to anyone. In your case, you need to speak directly with the landlord (and not to his manager) in order to clarify him your view point. Generally the landlords are good listeners and accommodating.
