Qatar Airways
Dear All,
I will be flying with Qatar Airways next month and for the first time i will be travelling with a baby of 9months, i will be travelling on a long distance, over 9 hours and i am wondering what the airline usually provide for babies at this age so that they can sleep ? do they provide a baby cot ? or they do not provide anything ? Do i have to book for that or they would normally know since they have tickets booked with a baby ?! i am really concerned about this since our baby can not sleep in the arms and he's used to sleep only in the bed.
Thanks a lot. B rgrds
With QR,the service you will get depends on a few things, all UNOFFICIAL of course...your nationality, the sector you're flying & the class you're flying...
@ nowreasonforsmile,THAT is Kingfisher...THIS is Qatar airways...BIG difference! :)...
Dear All,
Thanks a million for your valuable input and advice, i understand that pre-booking the baby cot is a must so i can be sure i will have one when flying. I appreciate your help and thanks again for sharing your experiences.
I will call them ahead of time to book the baby cot and make sure the front seats are booked for myself, my wife and the baby.
Thanks
I have flown many times with my son (who is 16 months old) on QA.
On the whole they are very unhelpful to women when travelling. I asked an airhostess to hold my baby for 20 seconds whilst I went to the bathroom. The answer was no, they are not permitted. When my husband travelled on his own with the baby, they could not do enough for him, please let me hold him, please let me wind him, please let me change his nappy!
Also, ensure that you pre-book the basinet seat, otherwise he will be on your lap the whole time.
If ur flying >5 hrs better fly Business Class on qatar airways which is well serviced by them and they cater to your needs properly . Over 5 +hrs in QA in economy will not be good , as crew are already haggered . If you get front seats then ok otherwise in cramped seats , you will have a terrible time .
There is facility, that you can check in b4 36hrs. So do check in ASA it will open and book ur seat in front as mentioned above. This is what i did for my bay and the remaining thing for sure they will take care of ur baby,....
yes, they do provide. actually they allot first seat (which hasenough space/baby cost etc for baby care) once they're confirmed of no family with infants is available. They do know status of families with infants through booking. (based on my experience)
you just ask (when booking or purchasing tht tickets) for 1st row seat as having a baby with you. you ll be provided a cot a spacious place. if you get the confirmation in the beginning, no one can take it from you, even if you are the last one to board ;)
Yes, as a Five star Airliner, Qatar Airways provides and takes care of your's and your beloved ones flight very safely without any compromise on the comfort. As you are travelling with a baby, you can request for a baby bassinet, which will be fed in as a special request, along with that if you need any more special attention, please do tell the reservation agent, which will be taken care with more attention.Nothing to worry, you are in safe hands.Wish you and your baby have a safe and comforable flight.
Even if you reseerve book the baby cot, it is served 1st coem 1st serve basis. SO make sure you report at the immigration well before the time. Otehrwise if tehre r more babies who checked in already, u may be forced to settle in the middle seats (it has happened to one of my friends).
Once I flied with Kingfisher in India with my daughter who was only 3 months old...I can even explain the way they took care of me and my duaghter...so many things were ready already the moment i entered in the plane..softest pillow ,,baby belt, small hold in cradle type of thing and earbuds for baby and me,baby milk sachets of few types, boiled water.I hope being a ***** airlines they will take great care of ur kid.Recently my 15 years old son went to India alone and they took a great care of him too...
baby cot. Make sure that you reserve the front seat where there are hooks available to support the baby cot.
