I feel so sad today just when watering my plants in the garden I happen to see a small bird lying on the ground.it's just a new born bird.can't even move or make sound itself.may be just dropped off by it's mother .I watched it rolling on the ground.keeping an eye that no cat comes and eats it.n still no sign of it's mother .so I decided to keep him inside till tomorro morning.dunno wat to feed in that little mouth.
I gave some milk and water.it drank and again I saw it's mouth wide open.
I took out some small pieces of breaker and soaked in water n fed him.
Guys n girls please comment is it enough or is it bad that I fed him bread?
I need what else can I feed him tomorrow morning...:S
What can I do to him?

have about a 0% of living without their mother. They have to be fed constantly and kept warm. Most vets won't even try. Once out of the nest, the mother bird is powerless to help the baby. It's sad, but that's the reality. They are unable to put them back in the nest. Its a death sentence for any newborn bird.

P.S.The cat food was the meat wich is moist. This will provide food & moist. When it is older you can feed it worms, larva or similar. Suppose the cat food would be ok even older.

I saw a program on animal planet where they fed baby birds cat food. Little each time with a pincette and fed it little every 30 min. This day & night. Specially when very small. Will demand a lot of effort on your behalf.Good luck & hope you have the energy.

once it the gram puls (chanay ke dal - if you understand Urdu) is soft... mash the gram puls and give very little with few drops of water

Also same procedure you repeat with mashed peas (Humos)

Soft Bread (soaked in water) is also fine.

Give her little amount of food 4 - 5 times a day :-)

Don't overfeed the bird !!!

Birds need seeds, water, fruit, greens (lettuce).

I dont know how it would sound to you....but if you can chew slice or bread with lil water (dont swallow) and then try to feed that lil bird with your mouth....just the way birds normally feed their lil ones.

PS: I have done it with a baby pigeon when I was a kid and it survived for atleast three days.

Give me another Chance...I wanna grow up once Again
