I think the operative phrase is "if the customer is not there she can rest." Sounds like the rationale of the employer is that is is not a 16-hour work day, but a 16 hour duty day. That's not unheard of. When Qatar Airways flies to the US the duty day can be 16 hours but there are rest breaks allowed.

This is the time when beauty saloons can earn more and more money and they give overtime payments to their employees too. Being pregnant is not an excuse but if she is ill and unable to perfom then she can consult a medical doctor who can give her "unfit for work" certificate then she can legally stay away from work. otherwise as only 8 days are left for eid if she can manage to work it is better for her.

This is the peak season. Your wife can actually make good money in terms of TIPS. :))

As far as her pregnancy is concerned, I dont think the employer has to do with it anything. This is the season of business and the employer would not tolerate any excuse.

It is better if she speaks to her employer and ask for a break with a substitute if available or request for early leave.

complaining would only lead you to go back home with all of your EOS benefits and one way ticket.

Cheers!!

But they have to give a one month notice in prior, or else employee can take an action via labor court!

Yes they can terminate her, their only obligation is to pay her salary, EOS and send her home.
