While there are few complaints ever about the Maldives and they are also rated one of the highest in satisfaction for honeymooners, one thing that cant be overcome by beauty and great service is Mother Nature. June- August are the wettest months in the Maldives

While some will testify that they've been and it's fine. This gamble with Mother Nature always has winners and losers. A higher risk for what will be a costly trip could lead to a certain level of dissatifaction. I guess what the question to ask is- What is the attraction to the Maldives for you and can that be replaced with a less riskier and compareable destination? If it can, maybe go with Plan B. If your heart is set on the Maldives, having a realistic expectation before you leave (it might rain a lot) might help you have a higher level of satifaction or lower level of dissatifaction. Also, if it doesn't rain a drop, imagine the pleasure you'll feel beating Mother Nature. Something to consider for such a special trip.
Also to consider is Seychelles(direct QA)- Mauritius(Emirates via Dubai) slightly longer flights, price- same in comparison though the Seychelles starts at a slightly higher bracket. But rainfall and rain days less

Of course, on the flipside, since it is low season in the Maldives, prices will be lower and the chances at getting a really good package are better.
Like many have suggested, try booking through a local reservation company or get a quote direct from the hotel.

Ross, all teh resorts in maldives offer honey moon packages, packages r generally exellent, all inclusive.they do special roo decoration and all that. i go to embadu often because it is less expensive close to airport , so no need to spend too much on seaplane. plzz log in to maldives tourism website, they also has central reservation, which means they can suggest u resorts according to ur budget.nd be relaxed Ross, u will surely have a wonderful honeymoon, place is beautiful,nd people r nice,
Dear Jane,do you recomend it for honey moon?do you have contacts there for booking inquiry? are they offering all inclusive packages there?
give me please more details on that resort.
regards
was'nt expecting such good response, sure this would help, however if you have contact emails to whome i can directly correspond overthere i will be more than greatfull, any trip advice also welcome i am forced to go in August as it is the only holiday i got this year:( but i hope the weather would be much better than the summer here!!!

I think you could get a cheaper deal yourself booking on the internet than thru travel agents..

If not try Qatar airways as others have advised.
i agree, be carful with sunbath, i noticed tan u get in maldvs is long lasting, enjoy ur honey moon, they will make special arrangment for u
we went to Meeru resort last year -- i highly reccomend it. www.meeru.com
Hi,
My suggestion is try exchanging Qatari Riyals to the local currency before you travel, once you're in Maldives, they only accept US dollars as payment..and you don't need any travel agent to go to Maldives because there are local tour guides and as jane5 said...it's really quite organize there...have a safe trip

MALDIVES? where is that?

i ddn't go thru agencies as my sister works for Qatar Airways..but i really recommend Maldives...it's a very lovely place..you would surely enjoy..the water are so crystal clear and if you are a water person, you would love all those water activities they have in store for you & your honey. we stayed at Bandos but you can try other atolls as well. they said Club Med is good but it's a bit far from the airport...ways to go there is by speed boat, i guess 45 minutes.
enjoy ur honeymoon, be sure to bring sunblock as the sun over there is so friendly...still got my tan..
summer is not necessarly a good time to visit maldives, it is hot nd very humid. u dont realy need any agency to go maldives. things are pretty well organised there. try embadu resort. close to mali, not prohibitively expensive but very comfortable. visit their website for more details http://www.embudu.com/.i travel everyyear to this resort, so if u need any more info, feel free to ask.
I agree with gypsy gal...QR holidays has decent honeymoon packages..
Qatar Airways Holidays....they have package for Maldives..honeymoon packages as well..
don't try Qatar Airways holidays if you don't want to miss your honey moon...
