Personal Loan

Dear all,

I would like to seek an advice for what should I do with my personal loan worth QR 150,000.00. I left Doha for vacation and suddenly I can not go outside of my country for such family reason. Now the bank keep calling me here in the Philippines due to my 6 months delayed payments. What I am supposed to do if I can not pay this hege amount? Please somebody give me an idea about this. Should I ignore the bank or wait for the arresting CID? Thank you and more power to Qatar Living.

i you have the money to pay for it, then pay.

if you dont have at the moment but you have intention of paying for it, then coordinate with the bank.

if you dont have money and no plan to pay for it, just be ready to face the consequences afore-mentioned (which i think are mostly hear-say).

i think you should pay cause, they will sure find ways to track you down and definitely they will get a good lawyer to put you in jail... even you are in your own countries i think they have tie ups with the financial institution there and definitely they will come after you, try to make an arrangements with them the earliest the better.

A friend of mine also have an unpaid loan balances in  Abu Dhabi  in two banks and haven't paid for 4 mos.  (in pesos , its more than P 3.5M ) he was able to exit  A.D. and is here in Doha , but he is willing to pay his loan, he coordinated with the bank already and they are giving him softer terms.

# 1 )  If   u really don't want to pay,  its up to u, but never come back again to Doha or to another GCC  or u might get arrested......... ( but the process takes a very long time,  2 years is still safe)

#2)  if ur willing to pay it, go back to the ME and work , and if ur already capable, call them up and  request for a better payment term....... banks have a loan recovery department  (or something similar)  different from the credit and collections department,   guys there are sensible people and will find ways for a win-win situation for both sides.......

Note: keep browsing in the internet, there are lots of sites wherein  the topic is  about credit card problems and the likes...... u might get of of ideas from there also ..........

good luck to u.....

It 's because of the kind of you that gulf country make exit permit.

It's ridicules, you think it's easy to get money like that.

Despite of what it is recommended in previous posts. It is not advisable at all to turn down the bank's requests. With such an amount the bank can assign a collection agent in your country to chase you. And the interest will double the original amount. the best solution for you is you agree with the bank on rescheduling the loan installments. in your situation the bank will be willing to compromise interest rate so you get better settlement conditions. you have to push towards this solution. otehrwise things will get worse. I feel sorry for you, life is unfair...sometimes

And probably Bank will report to the International Police and in any place of this world you will be arrested. Go! Sort this out... Have a peaceful life.....

I have been told Banks have a way of getting their money.  Why are so many people on the QL sites mentioning taking out huge loans they have no intention of repaying what do they think the outcome will be?  What they think the banks have so much money they can just give it away.  Sorry I think it ridiculous.

Pay it. This is the reason they are reluctant to lift the exit permit system. With all due respect, it is not the bank's fault that you are not coming back. At least write to them and tell them of your circumstances.
