What is going on at the school? The school year has just begun and again, teachers are already leaving, sometimes in the middle of the week! Does anybody know why so many teachers leave quickly?
Yes, I agree. What we need is well regulated schools, where education and care are first and foremost. These schools just want profit.
Although Doha College is not so much a profit making school. It has had the problem in latter years of egocentric, homosexual/bisexual heads, trying to make their mark, in more respects than one !
Well there are many other good British Schools poping up..Its about time that Park House and Doha College learn something about about being picky and chosey both in terms of students and staff..No surprise..
Aw Gawd!Yet more staff are leaving this school...a very popular lady is leaving now,it will be a shock to many! Why doesn't the ministry investigate these schools, where the staff leave all the time? It is no good for our children to have so many changes of staff.
But if you give the notice,as your contract says - usually one month for a local hire...you should get your gratuity? I think this teacher should go to the labor court. Now I know why the big lady at the top, always has big diamond rings on.
The labour law isn't always on the side of the employee.I worked in another school and told them I didn't want to renew my contract for the new school year.Ok , fine they said, then you have to write a letter of resignation which I,stupidly, did. Then I was told at the labour dept that because I had resigned I wasn't entitled to my full gratuity. Go figure!!

One teacher who has just left is having to go to a lawyer to get her gratuity....the big lady at the top is trying to keep it.....she does this often, when teachers leave. One South African teacher at the school has just told me this.
It could have something to do with the way the teachers were hired and what they were promised. Coming here, they find that things are very different. It happened to some South African colleagues of mine. (Mostly accommodation issues).

You are correct, you were stupid. If they would have fired you it would have been much better!

Casey, tell him to file a court case. He will get his money. The Labor Law is on his side.

Also some teachers are hired locally and paid crap, hence theres no incentive to be committed and stay, epsecially if a better offer come up.
