New to Qatar

I'm contemplating moving to Qatar for work in a couple of months but before I do, I would like to find out more about the accommodations in Doha. I've heard that renting is really expensive. Can anyone give me a rough gauge for renting a room near the airport? And is there anyone here with a room for rent? Hope to hear from you soon!
