Never Buy used I-phones posted in QL

Never buy used I-phones posted from Qatar living. I was caught in a trap which i wanted to share with you all. I never bought any used stuff ever in my life and I don't know what forced me to get this I-phone 4 32g posted on this profile.

Utter Waste of Qr. 2250/-

Dont believe in all those ads which catch your eyes......Iphone 4 32 gig for less than Qr. 2500/- These phones are ripped and if you plan like buying something like that, please do take it to a shop and check for any damages before finalizing the deal.

I bought this phone and checked everything except failed to check the camera  and wifi. I took it to a service centre, where they opened and showed me that the phone board was damaged and they could not do anything. This was already opened and someone tried to repair it and screwed it up.

The phone which I bought was posted in the link below
http://www.qatarliving.com/node/2096465

I do not want to reveal the name of the person as he is from my own place and honestly speaking I learnt a new lesson, "Never trust anyone" when it comes to business. This person was speaking to me in such a way that he never knew anything about iphones and that his brother had given him this and only thing he used to do is watch youtube videos.

Friends, therefore, please please...If you plan to buy an I-phone in Qatar - You have trusted dealers and always buy a new sealed iphone pack. Never ever go for a used one.

I would never cheat someone by selling a damaged iphone as I am a firm believer in God and honestly I take this oppurtunity to pray to God that let him forgive this person who purposefully hooked this phone to my neck.

Unearned money and possessions will never be a blessing.

Always be a honest person and such people will be a honour to everyone and unto God.

QL ads are at your own risk. Test products before purchasing. Sorry that you had to deal with this. Its not bad compared to the others who lost way more money on bad products and/or services. Lessoned learned. Now go get the sucka who stiffed you.

If somebody remembers well than I posted a post regarding before buying a used IPAD what precautions u shoul dtake.... OK?Now what happened one German lady put an ad over here prior to that my post...she was selling the IPAD 64 GB wifi 3G for 2000 because she dont want it anymore as it was an unwanted gift and she was not perfect in operating it.Now when we asked her in email (within 20 minutes of her post) with few queries as advised by my US based engineer cousin..she sent a mail back that she just sold it... .....such a fake ad..

@Manoj, Thank you for the advice and I truly wish if some action is being taken for this person "althaf" - 55448643 (Abdul Sataar) by name. But what is the use. These people will cancel this account and will start-up again with a new account. And it is easy to get a new sim number. There is no control over anything in this world except the fear that there is an almighty God who is watching over all in-justice deeds. The world has changed in such a way that people least care about people. Its money power, pride, possessions...etc.. The human society is blinded by these riches not even knowing what is going to happen the next moment. However, God is living and those who do in-justice will surely have to face the consequence. I do not want to take up a case against this person as I have already surrendered this to my God and he will fight for me. It is true that losing thousands of riyals and forgetting is very difficult but may be for a person like me, It was in this way that God has taught me this lesson. If God be for us, who can be against us. I truly have experienced and will keep experiencing it for the rest of my life. I feel relaxed now.

I do not think taking up a complaint with capital police station will be a good idea as what I understand is that for any case, there must be an evidence. What evidence cud i give them in this case. Probably a print out (which I already have) and the iphone. Need to chase this guy down else what I would do is, "Pray to God so that he will be blessed and his family will be blessed" and forgive him.

@dinesh: Thank you for the advice and yes, these kind of mistakes are always new lessons learned. As I mentioned earlier, this is the first time I am buying a used item and yes, if people who sell these items have a responsibility in presenting them in good condition; then its alright. But there are some items and some people who cant be trusted at all.

Im really sorry what you have faced. as jegan said, you cannot put all the blame on sellers. I even sell on QL for two or more months now. but if there is some defect or something, I have told them, but fortunately, Im not a careless guy and I only sell used items by myself or new items with packaging. im really sorry what you have faced. but it is your responsibility to study the item "google" it and the item should be thouraly inspected before buying. I highly recommend it.

@jegan - I aint putting blame on the sellers...all I am doing is to create an awareness among all QL friends on how to deal with these sellers especially when buying used electronic items. This is a trusted joint community and people must have a trust relationship. Not like this person who sold to me and I even called him back in less than an hour to tell him that this iphone was not working and he was not willing to return back the money. I am pretty sure that he knew there was some fault with this phone and he just wanted to dump this onto someone. Anyhow, I will never ever buy used items and even if I do sell something, I will make sure of my honest commitment in business. All money gained by cheating will one way vanish. Only hard-earned money will bring out fruits and prosper.

Thank you and yes, I will indeed make note of your advice

While buying this kind of stuff price is comparison is important but dont forget to count the seller's service & trust.

sorry to hear this but you are not the first victimyou cannot put the blame on all sellers, when you use a word "Never Buy" it really affect the whole QL Traders.I have been selling in QL for nearly 3 years, so far I concern about customer satisfaction. I always offer 2 days return policy after sale.as Just1s said, if you are really not sure the seller you can demand for 2 days return policy & a ID copy.but in your case you have been very concerned about the price instead of seller's identification. While buying this kind of stuff price is comparison is important but dont forget to count the seller's service & trust.

If he doesnt pick-up the call, try sending him an SMS telling that you will report him to capital polilce. If he still did not response, then Do it. police will identify the person by his mobile nos.

We are all aware that buying used items can't guarantee the quality of items, we just have to be more CAREFUL and SMART in choosing the item by quality checking. unless we are lucky that the seller is honest and God fearing individual.ANyways, I want to share my point of view in selling and buying the item.1. seller should be certain that the item is good condition if not honestly mention the fault of the item-A guarantee of 1 or 2 days should be given to the buyer by writing speciallly to those Big amounts.2. buyer should demand a copy of ID copy from the selller, to avoid thise type of activityIm also selling some items here before BUT I always tell to the buyer  "if you find any problem within 2 days you can return the item to me".

Check electronics well before you buy! And don't bileve the whole story which a seller might tell to sell his good. Its the buyers duty to check it well before buying and if you have no idea on the product you gonna buy,ask someone, google on it and take someone who knows about the product with you.PEACE!

I will make an addition to your advise....Dont Ever Buy Any Type of Used Electronic Item....from someone, specially when he post an ad for it....I encountered with two incidents, one with the Laptop and one was a 3 in one Printer. Laptop was atleast ok but the battery was gone. But the printer was not printing the black print. Once I called the guy within 2 hours, he replied the same way....you checked the item and I wll not take it back. Finally I compromised with QR 100/- deduction and he returned the printer. So, moral of the story, dont ever buy used ELECTRONICs until the user is your closed friend and you know the item he is using for long time.

I called the seller and reported about this and he was smart indeed to tell me that you did check infront of me and never reported this complaint. On my question to give my money back, he told me that you have taken this iphone to a service centre and opened it and it will be difficult for me to return the money. I do not have any other option rather than to be sorry for not being smart enough. Therefore, please, my dear QL friends, never puchase any used Iphones selling for cheap prices. If you guys come up with a solution so that I can get back my money, pls do share it. There could also be a chance, this phone was actually owned by him or could he have stolen it from somewhere. God only knows.
