Need Help - Question -

Hello
I have received an attractive offer to work in Qatar, however, I started to read in the net about the sponsorship laws, is it true that an employee cannot quit or will be banned from leaving the country? and what is the solution ion this case? can the embassy interfere? I do not really understand or believe that this is true and happened to people in intellectual jobs. Your advice is welcome, thank you
if you got attracted on the offer think twice because it will depend now on the next page. before signing or accepting the offer read it carefully and discuss if its not suited on your needs because here in qatar you can leave anytime with one mos notice for turn over, gratuity etc.. purposes... ban will be lift if your current sponsor/employer can give you NOC, which stated that they dont have any objection on you to transfer another sponsor. NOC, thats all what you need to work to other company inside qatar. so in that case providing NOC should be stated on the contract. just take note about the NOC and the rest will be on your decision. i know you are smart enough since you receive an attractive offer :D Ch33rs :3
An employer cannot stop you from quitting job or leaving the country under normal circumstances. Terms for termination of employment will be mentioned in the employment contract. Usually its a 1 month notice you need to give to the employer if you intend to leave the job. It is true that you need an exit permit approved by employer to leave Qatar at any point of time. It is unlikely that a company do not issue exit permit unless the employee has done a crime or anything similar.
gene_lv is absolutely correct...even i echo the same :)
The employee can resign at any time by giving a written notice. Normally 1 month. There are bad and good employers in any part of the world and Qatar is not an exception. Normally employers are accommodating from workers coming from the first world countries (US, UK, etc.). There are employers that give NOC (NO Objection Certificate) and or release to their resigning employees. This will allow them to find employment elsewhere in Qatar. You can discuss this issue to your employer before coming to Qatar. If you need anything else, PM me your email and I will be glad to help you with other issues. Cheers
