Dear all, I am desperately looking for a metal detector to borrow. I would of course pay for it. My husband lost his wedding rin in the sand and we would like to try to find it again. Can anybody help me please????
Try to find out about some companies which deal in safety and security items and call them. You may be able to get their names from Google. I am sure they must be having one.
@rsandlin, I once heard of some british men who discovered the philosophers stone, it was during the Victorian era...their names are John Dee and Edward Kelly.
@ Britexpat...lol. That Cuban Shotputter must have been an amazing individual. Having a shotputter as a girlfirend means you must be pretty strong yourself. Shotputters are very similar to powerlifters.
@rsandlin. I agree with you 200%. Many expats in Qatar are nasty, this may have to do with their survival instincts. Also a country where 98% of the expats are in search for money, that behavior is not surprising. A large group of people here value money over humanity, many here even value money more than themselves, hence they end up depressed.
I have not been here for too long, however I have been told that certain nationalities are pretty nasty, Yes it goes beyond nations, it is more about the human nature...but yet there is a particular nation of people that seem to think that Money is what life is all about.
Qatar is an extremely beautiful city, I went to the Museum last yr and it was awesome. However I speak for myself here, for me it is not much about the environment, rather the sort of energy I am surrounded by. I come from Africa, and many people there don't have much, however 90% of them still express joy. I think the Qatar Government notices this defect, hence they try to encourage sports, social activities and many other beautiful things of life.
Personally I don't have a problem with the Culture of Qatar or the Religion here, because I believe with time, everything will eventually evolve, that's what life is about, life is about change.
I have learnt a lot in Qatar, and Qatar is great for Qataris. Also Qatar will be nothing without the expats...However I have decided to leave very soon this year, I love the culture, but in my mind the country is still evolving, and with change comes difficulty, flexibility and adaptability, which is all good.
In summary I think Qatar and it’s expats will do really well at the end of it all.
I doubt you will be able to find someone who could loan this to you here in Qatar. Since the ring has much sentimental value, you may need to buy a detector. I had bought one for my company back home and it is not that costly.

Fantastic! Oh, hang around QL and you will hear all about BE's Cuban shot-putter girlfriend. I think she used him for practice!

My Cuban Shotputter lost her ankle bracelet at Wakrah Beach last year whilst we walked hand in hand in the moonlight. Perhaps you can help me find it.
Oh! you found the ring..... Awesome!
You are a true treasure hunter.
You may one day find the Philosopher's stone...or maybe you've got it already...:)
