Medical Examination

Hi everyone...

I am a newly hired site nurse here in Qatar. I had my medical examination at NHA then they forward my blood samples to Hamad Hospital. Up until now I still dont have the results of my medical exam. I was wondering why its taking to much time. I read some of the threads here, that it usually takes 2 weeks or more to have the result but i dont know if thats still the duration as the thread is dated sometime 2006 or 2007.

Can anyone give me information on how many weeks should I wait for the result of my medical examination and is it really required now for all nurses' blood samples to be sent to Hamad Hospital for verification? Help me out please because its been bugging my mind for the past weeks. Your reply will be very much appreciated.

Hi Ms. Apple

I need your advice, im just a new OFW, My job here is also a site nurse. I had my medical examination last dec. 24 2012, but until now i havent received the result yet.. I asked our head office and they told me that lahat ng mga kasabay ko na labor employee during the medical already had the result,,sakin nlng ung PENDING? Is there anything to worry about it? or i still need to wait for another days since ako lng ung ngiisang medical practitioner na ng medical sa mga kasabay ko?

Just FYI, i was diagnosed with Pleural thickening in the philippines on my first medical exam but i did my second opionion to other GAMCA clinic and they issued me as fit to work...

So im just worried na nakita nila dito ung pleural thickening in my lungs...is there's a chance na pauwiin nila ko if ever they see that thickening?

I will wait for your advice apple,,kinakabahan kasi ko since its my first time and i dont want to disappoint myself and those people who are the reason y im here...

The blood test was for my working visa. Our company's PRO already made a follow up call to, I think NHA but there was no result yet as they said. I am just worried because its taking too much time. I will talk then with our PRO regarding with the information that you gave, where in they will no longer inform me the results unless there were abnormalities found and I can go straight to CID for my finger print.

Thank you apple for this information..I'll keep you posted regarding my problem. You've been a great help. It seems that your consistently answering some queries here in QL. Kudos to you Apple... :D

was your blood test for the purpose of obtaining work visa, or a blood test to obtain nursing license in qatar? anyway, both procedures required blood test for nursing profession and other medical/paramedical employees.

there is nothing much to worry if it was done purposely to complete your visa procedure. usually, they wont inform you for the result unless there are abnormalities been traced in your blood, you can directly go to cid for finger print at least 3-5 working days from the date of your test.

but if it was done as a requirements for NHA licensing you may need to follow up the results at the place where you took the test.
