Medical advice, please,, URGENT

my friends son (16 years ) rescently did a blood test for ESR count due to his continuuos cough.
thank god, there is no abnormal ESR count, but the doctors are surprisesd to see his HAEMATOCHRIT reading.
It says he has 88..... the normal reading for male shoiuld be between 45-55.
the HMC doctor advised to do agian the labtest at s privt clinic. They did not disclose the details,, and no one knows the importance of Hamatochrit.
doctor also told " I will not tell you something now, it may be terrific news fro you. rirst you take the test"

what can be the bad news,, is there any treatment,, is it really a acute disease
