cape is the translation of Ras. It both means extension of land jutting out into water and head. But it's latter usage is not common as RAS

I recall, it was the restaurant on the Corniche, called Ras Ahnasa. Food was so-so, service was complete and total sucks, but good shisha was available, and main thing, you could sit by the water.. it got demolished...

RAS is generally the HEAD of any land or even machinery.

I am not Arabic speaking but learning from my experience, the (tractor) head of a trailer / truck is also called RAS since it is detachable.
