looking for my partner just moved to Al Khaw

My partner has just got a job in Ras Laffan port as an contract electrical supervisor. This offer of employment happened very quickly while he was working interstate on a remote site so we didn't get together before he left for Qatar.

He is living in the AlKhor compound in a villa with 3 other "singles" and travels each day to work.

As they do not have a telephone at the villa and my partner cannot use his mobile anywhere on site I am finding it difficult to contact him.
I would appreciate if anyone living there could maybe contact me so that I can maybe contact him through locals to find out an exact details of his address.

I seem to be having much difficulty in reaching his mobile as i get messages in arabic (then english) saying that the number is incorrect (it isn't!) How hard is it to get a local phone number in these villas provided by employers?
Your help would be much appreciated.

I understand your concerns, but I am not stupid either, I am trying to connect timtam with her partner, based on the latter's will not her's or mine.

I have a very simple and diplomatic way of doing so. No offense meant timtam, but I'm just striking a balance, to make sure I'm neutral.

I PM-ed you, got it?

May we all find/unite/re-untie with our loved ones.

Happy New Year

if he was really interested in contacting you he should have done it by now.

Doha is not a primitive place where services are in the Dark ages.

if you havent located your partner already, please let me know his complete name, his age, etc. I have a friend who is working in Ras Laffan, I can give it a try.

i do agree that telephone communication in Ras Laffan isnt all that reliable. but yeah, like xena said, it all sounds a bit suspicious. I mean, if ur partner had feelings for u with the same intensity, he wud have got in touch with u by now, n provided his whereabouts.

anyways, do msg me if u r still in search of him.

with requests like this...

For me, if this "partner" wants to be found, he would have contacted home by now... This is the 21st century... communication is the easiest thing in the world....

This sounds a bit suspicious... Sorry to be a doomsayer....

Would you like to PM about the details of your partner's full name and company's full name? and the number you have?

I can try my best to reach their office or home number, if possible.

This is just an attempt to help you out. I don't know how you will trust with this info, I'm just a stranger to you! but I want nothing in return, except to bring you comfort.

Another Qler, months ago, had this same issue, now she's fine and in touch with her husband.

Let me know.

have you contacted the recruitment agency in Australia? They would have details of the company surely.

As I said earlier, all this happened VERY quickly and through a recruitment company in Australia, so I did not get all these details as I had no idea that we would have this problem when he arrived.

Maybe it sounds desperate to you, but if you were in my position maybe you would also be concerned and worried if someone close to you was not contactable!

Do you not know the phone number of his company? If he is your partner, did he not tell you who he would be working with or call YOU when he got here?

Maybe you have the wrong area code or something?

All sounds a bit desperate :(
